Healthy food habits and happy motherhood

WE HAVE often heard about the whims and fancies that pregnant women have during pregnancy for food. One can never know how much alluring green food and vegetables could be! The colors and taste attracts everyone. Even doctors recommend green vegetables and fruits during the expecting time. In order to avoid miscarriages and improper fetus development one should take special care of food habits during pregnancy. One should avoid unwashed fruits and vegetables in order to be safe from eating unhealthy bacterias. Even sprouts should not be eaten raw, cook them thoroughly and then intake them - as many raw vegetables contain many contaminated bacteria.
Some suggestions are also made on huge amount of vitamin A. It is not recommended during pregnancy as it may cause birth disorders in the fetus. The one thing that needs to be avoided for sure is caffeine and alcohol content. Caffeine affects the heart rates of the child. Alcohol increases the chances of miscarriages and mental disorders in the child. It’s best if they are not even taken in small amounts. Effects of alcohol are seen as very adverse in majority of the cases. Seafood it is considered to be the best source of protein. On the other hand it has got a lot of mercury. This can harm the fetus developing nervous system.
Some species such as tilefish, shark, king mackerel and swordfish are recommended to be avoidable by Environment Protection Agency and Food and Drug Administration. Poultry, meat and eggs undercooked should not be taken. It’s because of the harmful bacteria that do not get well with the immunity system. They result in poisoning the baby and even the mother. Dairy products that are skimmed and not pasteurized are also avoidable as they may lead to food borne dieses such as rotavirus, hepatitis E. For cheese lovers a few forms such as cottage and mozzarella cheese should also not be taken.

Only with a little consultation of doctor and healthy eating habits can have a healthy baby. Eat healthy and be healthy!
