THE IMPORTANT causes of smoking–related mortality include heart diseases and chronic obstructive lung disease. Quitting smoking involves the combination of behavioural therapy and drugs. Combination therapy is clearly superior to counseling alone or drugs alone. Drug therapy involves giving a varenicline or combined nicotine replacement.

International Nurses Day being observed today
INTERNATIONAL NURSES Day is being observed across the world today with the theme 'Closing The Gap: Increasing Access and Equity'. The main objective is to appreciate the contributions made by nurses towards building a healthy society and to provide quality health care to patients.
Throughout the world, the International Nurses Week is celebrated from May 6 to 12 and each year, and on this day a prayer service is held at Westminster Abbey in London.
